William Moses
William Moses, 84, of Firehouse Rd passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 12, 1939, in Claremont, NH, the son of Howard and Gertrude Garnier Moses. Bill attended schools in Chester and Bellows Falls graduating in 1957. During his time in Bellows Falls, he did lawns and gardens in his neighborhood on Westminster Terrace. Bill served in the Vermont National Guard while attending Castleton Teachers College. Bill was a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course. He was a former member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Secretary for three years. Bill worked eight years as a senior rate/routing clerk for Holmes Transportation. He was also worked as a domestic and international sales coordinator for Hubbard Farms for 30 years. He worked for Hannafords in Keene, and in 1998, he started working for Maplewood Nursing home as a ward aid and receptionist, retiring in 2020. Bill served on the Fall Mountain School Board for four years. He was a member of the Southeastern Poultry Air Cargo Committee secretary for three years and chairman for three years. He was the clerk for North Walpole Village Commissioners since 1998, member of the Bellows Falls Senior Citizens Center. Bill formally coached soccer, baseball and was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader for 15 years. He especially enjoyed his time spent being Santa Claus at Maplewood. On August 10, 1963, he married Frances Borges who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Paul William and Jason Erik Moses, one daughter-in-law, Laura Smith Moses and two grandsons, Justin Paul and Thomas Howard Moses.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on March 16, 2024, at 10:00 at St. Peter’s Church in North Walpole, NH. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
