Terry Bernard Carey, 71, of Brookline, VT died peacefully at his home on May 9, 2022. Terry was born December 13, 1950, to Bernard and Virginia (Martin) Carey in Keene, NH.
Terry graduated from Keene High School in 1968 and lived most of his adult life in Vermont. He worked at many jobs over the years including the Book Press and Vermont Islands.
He enjoyed working with his hands building things and working with leather. He loved gardening and had some beautiful flower gardens. One of his greatest passions was setting up at different flea markets and selling stuff he had obtained from yard sales or thrift stores. He was a huge Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, he also enjoyed watching the Celtics and other sports. He also had a huge love of all animals and always had bird feeders full!
He is survived by his daughter, Morah and her husband, Chuck Chowning; his granddaughters, Briana, Chloe, and Kathryn Chowning; his mother, Virginia Carey; his brother, Michael Carey, and his family; his sister, Bonnie Corliss and her family. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard, and his sister-in-law, Sandra Peace-Carey, and many other family members he loved dearly.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral arrangements.

posted May 24, 2022Terry was a special friend to me , my brother in law, although not officially, his love for my sister Marilyn was as strong as any marriage certificate. He made me laugh with his dry humor and sometimes made me cry with a misunderstanding, but that is family. Terry would make special little gifts for me out of his leather or wood, and I cherish them all, his way of saying I love you. Chatting with him has always been such a intriguing adventure, I shall miss him with all my heart. I am honored to have been part of his life. Thank you Terry for loving and taking care of my sister, and thank you Marilyn for loving and taking care of my brother inlaw.

posted June 20, 2022Terry was a wonderful man. I was lucky enough to have him in my life for the past 16 years. Although he was not my father he was Grampy Terry to my children as my mother was his partner for the last 16 years and loved him very much. We will all miss him so much. Rest in peace Grampy Terry.
