Though for quite some time we were years apart, and now miles apart, we were CLOSE, you always tried to find me. I looked up to my loving brother, (had to, he was taller than me), that said we made up for lost years and they are and will be ever precious to me forever.
I won't say good-bye, but I will see you again, and I hope it's near an open stream with rainbow trout jumping, and a deer or moose in the background. Love you Stuart,
your brother, Lee

So sorry to hear of Stuart’s passing. He was my first Field Training Officer when I was assigned to him August of 1979. Stuart’s attention to details, and focus on the job set a great standard for me to follow throughout my career. I could not have asked for a better Warden to guide me through my first training assignment. Stuart and I held a special connection after successfully deescalating a situation where a deer jacker held me at gunpoint after we stopped three poachers late one night. Rest in peace my good friend.

Though we were years apart, we were brought back together some 30 years later

As a member of the Vermont State Police (retired-2004) I worked with Stewart many times over the years on various investigations where we needed expertise in the woods. Stewart was very knowledgeable and just one of the nicest and accommodating persons I have ever known. I have many fond memories of Stewart, may he rest in peace.
