Shawn Harper

April 21, 1987 - August 24, 2023

Shawn Harper, 36, passed away suddenly on August 24, 2023. Shawn was born in Springfield, VT on April 21, 1987, to Rodney and Kellie (Gallion) Harper.

Shawn loved to golf, fish and hunt. He had a beautiful smile, and wore his heart on his sleeve. His daughter, Reiley was his pride and joy and he cherished every moment he spent with her. He had a very special bond with his dog, Bentley, he loved spending time with him and the rest of his pets. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Going to Lake Champlain was one of his favorite memories. One of his favorite things to do was watch for shooting stars. He was known to be a jack of all trades, he took great pride in being able to fix anything and everything. He enjoyed helping his neighbors in any way he could. He always made a point to try and make people laugh, he always said that he wanted to be a standup comedian one day. He spent the last three years on an adventure with his best friend, T, who he cared for very much.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Rodney and Kellie Harper, his daughter, Reiley Harper, brothers, Brad (Marie) Harper, and Kyle (Jamie) Harper, his grandfather, Wilson Gallion, his partner, Taren Gendron and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Many times Shawn would make sure to get my attention, to say hello, ask how Justin and Jasmine are. Shawn introduced me to his daughter and told how she changed his life. Shawn showed me his Husky pup and was always telling me about his carpentry.
Shawn talked about his parents and loved his mom very much, he told me his hunting stories and was never a loss for words. Ive seen him cry and seen him laugh, that kid had the greatest smile and even when he was down he hed crack the grind, and you knew hed some how be ok.
Itll be hard to walk around spfld and bf and not hope to see Shawn again, He was truly a great kid and a real friend.
Rest in love and peace my friend
May the mountain breeze be the hug your family needs.
A very real friend, John Fiske
