Sharon Dillon Charuhas
Sharon Dillon Charuhas passed away on July 15, 2026.
Sharon was born March 30, 1950, in Washington, DC to Andrew P. Dillon and Pauline (Andres) Dillon. She grew up in the suburbs of Maryland and graduated from LaReine High School in Suitland, MD.
Sharon married Jim Charuhas, (Sr.) on November 22, 1969, they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing in May of 2025.
Sharon had a variety of jobs, at her first job out of high school she worked at the Pentagon. After moving to Vermont in 1973, she worked at World Learning, SCA, she was a florist and a cook. Her most prized job was being a grandma. She babysat Briana, Emily, Tyler and Alex from the time they were born.
Sharon and Jim love to fish, boat and go camping. They belonged to the community garden in Bellows Falls for 10 years where they enjoyed many hours of tending to their vegetables.
Sharon was a 30-year member of Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) holding many offices including leader for two years. She took Living Strong classes twice a week for 11 years through Westminster Cares. She developed a great number of valued friendships through those two groups.
Sharon had a flair for colors, decorating, flowers and created a number of vine wreaths over the years that she displayed proudly throughout her home.
She and Jim were Communicants of St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls.
Sharon was predeceased by Jim, her parents, and two brothers, Dennis and Joseph Dillon.
Survived by her son, James, Jr. “Jim” and his wife, Missy and her four beloved grandkids. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins and her two sister-in-laws.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Charles Church, Cherry Hill, Bellows Falls. Burial will follow in Westminster New Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls.
