Ruth Elaine (Freihofer) Morse, of Westminster, died peacefully at home on June 13 with her loved ones by her side. Ruth was born on Nov. 27, 1929, in Bellows Falls to George and Mathilde Freihofer (Barth). She graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1948. She worked in the Bellows Falls Town Manager’s office until she married Richard S. Morse on June 10, 1960, and moved to Westminster. They were married 53 years. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Lois Freihofer and her parents. She is survived by her children, Kenneth and Bette Morse of Westminster, Michael Morse of Westminster, Diane and Chip O’Brien of Westminster, her stepchildren, Salle Willson of Roanoke, Virginia, Richard Morse of Bellows Falls, and JoAnn Morse of Westminster, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at the Westminster New Cemetery at noon on June 18, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life for Ruth at her home at 275 Henwood Hill Road in Westminster on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Westminster Cares.
