Lynne Adele Hill
Lynne Adele Hill passed away in North Fort Myers, Florida on January 27, 2022, at the age of 68 years. She died of natural causes.
Lynne was born on June 19, 1953, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, to Jackie and Freedom Bennett. She grew up in Grafton, Vermont, with her brother, Gil and sister, Sherry on the farm of her grandparents, Gib and Clara Lockerby. Lynne was very close with her aunts, uncles and cousins who lived on and around Wright Orchard Road. She attended Grafton Elementary School and graduated from Bellows Falls Union High School, Class of ’71. She had a son, David with her first husband, Jody Wilson, in 1973. Her son, Lucius (Lute) was born in 1979 with her second husband, Steve Rumrill. Lynne spent many years working at the Grafton Village Cheese Company for the Windham Foundation in Grafton and later Brattleboro, Vermont. She valued many of the relationships formed over the years with co-workers and their families. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, Dominic, Trenton, Braydon, and Kyle. In the late 2000’s, Lynne and her last husband, Tim Hill sold the house in Grafton and moved to North Fort Myers, Florida. There she would meet a supportive community that until her last days and beyond showed their love for her. She enjoyed dancing, sunbathing by the water, and spending time with friends. Lynne liked to keep up online with her children and siblings’ families, as well as her cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends back up north. She loved her many animal companions throughout her life, especially her cat, Olive and dogs, Duke, Hank, Bam Bam and most of all Fenway. She was terrible at riding a bicycle and liked nothing less than the Cross Bronx Expressway, but occasionally attempted to navigate both (not at the same time).
In observance of her passing, Lynne’s family would like to announce a graveside memorial service on Saturday, September 3 at Burgess Cemetery on Route 35 in Grafton, Vermont, at 11:00 AM. Directly followed by food and stories about Lynne at the White Chapel in Grafton.
