Kenneth Gunnerson

December 18, 1932 - December 9, 2023

Kenneth Gunnerson, 90, a longtime resident of Walpole, NH passed away after a period of declining health on December 9, 2023, at Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester.

Kenneth was born on December 18, 1932, in Shrewsbury, MA, the son of Henry and Flora (McCullough) Gunnerson. He was the youngest of eight siblings. He attended schools in Shrewsbury until later moving to East Westmoreland where he spent several years of his education in a one room school. Ken went to Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster and then high school in Walpole and graduated in the class of 1951. After graduation, he went to work for Hubbard Farms, in the hatchery, where he retired after 40 years.

Ken or Gunny as he was known was an avid gardener and shared the fruit of his labors with many happy families and neighbors. He was also a deer hunter and he loved the ocean. He will be strongly missed by many that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ken’s wife, Beverly (Smith) of 65 years predeceased him on August 4, 2021.

Ken leaves behind his daughter, Kimberlee, his son, Darren and wife, Tracy. He also leaves two grandsons, Devin Gunnerson, and Brandon Madden, and his wife, Jenny, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A Graveside service will take place on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 1:00 in the family lot in Walpole Village Cemetery.
