Karen Ann Stratton, 65, Westminster, VT, passed away at home on Sunday, July 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was with her family of cats and kittens nearby and her husband, Richard by her side.

She was born March 18, 1961, in Lewiston, Maine, her family was all from Maine. Karen is the daughter of Clifford and Jeanette (Brooks) Martin. She moved to Springfield, VT when she was five years old. She attended the Springfield School System and graduated in 1979. She enjoyed showing horses, snowmobiling when she was younger. Karen enjoyed rescuing feral cats and kittens with Windham County Humane Society giving them to good homes and new chance on life.

She is survived by her husband, Richard H. Stratton Jr; her mother, Jennette of Peterborough, NH, stepchildren, Sarah McMillen of Florida, Joshua and Sherrie Stratton of Brandon, VT, grandchildren: Tyler, Ryan and Katelynn of Florida, Myla and Kane Stratton of Brandon, VT. She is also survived by her older sister, Brenda (Gary) Pellerin of Ascutney, VT, brother, Michael Martin and Chris Camire of Peterborough, NH, brother, Barry (Christy) of Seekonk, MA, sister-in-law, Toni (Lester) White of Westminster, VT and her father-in-law, Richard H. Stratton Sr. of Westminster, as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father and by Sarah’s husband, Garry McMillen of Florida.

A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
