It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Jahangir “Jon” Mozaffari on May 23, 2026. He was 65 years old. Jahangir was born in Ahvaz, Iran, son of Gorji Rahimi and Gholamhossein Mozaffari. He immigrated to New York City in 1978 and was a curious student, having earned his Bachelors of Arts in Biology, Masters of Science in Chemistry, and Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University. It was during his time at Columbia University that he met his wife, Catherine Santiago, a fellow graduate of the School of Dentistry.

Jahangir moved to Bellows Falls with his wife and partner, in 2008 along with their four children. Bellows Falls was his home for nearly two decades, where he raised their children, started their Dental practice, and operated a small farm in nearby Grafton dedicated to his mother. He was known to the community as a trusted dentist and caring employer.

Jahangir was a devoted husband and father, dutiful son, and loving brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his children: Camron, Ryan, Leila, and Kayvan; his mother: Gorji; his siblings: Ali (spouse, Farah), Mahmoud (spouse, Samira), Hossein, Azam (spouse, Bijan), Yavar, Mehdi, Shahla; and his large extended family full of nieces and nephews.

Jahangir leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion for the outdoors, love for antiquing, and unfading memories of laughter. He will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home. His final resting place will be in Bellows Falls, Vermont.

The family asks that flowers be sent directly to Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT as arrangements have been entrusted to their care.
