Ira R. Clarke
Ira R. Clarke, 81, of Summer Street, died Monday, November 4, 2024, at his home. He was born in Charlestown on August 18, 1943, the son of Ira William and Ruth Lillian Holden Clarke. He was a graduate of Tempi Union High School. He worked as a machinist at Fellows and Bryant, J&L and the Springfield Terminal Railroad.
Ira was an avid woodworker, he was a self taught banjo player and played in a Blue Grass band, and loved riding his motorcycle. He was a former 25 year member of the American Legion.
On February 28, 1994, in Charlestown, NH, he married Pamela Wheeler who survives. He is also survived by one son, Richard William Clarke, and two daughters, Belinda Clarke and Penelope Jean Makala. He is also survived by two step-children, Connie Saucier and Jesse Manley. He is also survived by his grandchildren that he loved most of all. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother, George and one sister, Linda Chinn.
At his request there will be no services.
