Heather Jewel (Dunn) LaComb
Heather Jewel (Dunn) LaComb, 43, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2025, the day of the Winter Solstice, due to a brain aneurysm. Heather’s passing came far too soon and has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Heather was born on December 7, 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paula A. Dunn and Gary Dunn, both of Bellows Falls, Vermont.
She is survived by her beloved children, Spencer LaComb and Makenzie LaComb of Springfield, Vermont, who were the center of her world and her greatest source of pride. Heather was a devoted and loving mother whose life revolved around providing, supporting, and encouraging her children to become the best versions of themselves.
Heather is also survived by her sister, Sara A. Dunn, and Sara’s husband, Keith Thayer, of Perkinsville, Vermont; her longtime partner, Shawn Rice of Westminster, Vermont; and many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who were touched by her kindness and quiet strength.
Heather was a longtime and dedicated employee of Shaw’s in Walpole, New Hampshire, where she was known as a dependable, hardworking, and caring colleague. In addition to her work, Heather was actively pursuing a degree in Business Management, demonstrating her determination to better her future and provide stability and opportunity for her family. Those who knew Heather knew her as gentle, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. She carried herself with humility, resilience, and a steady compassion that did not seek attention but left a lasting impact.
Heather’s passing on the Winter Solstice holds special meaning. The solstice marks the longest night of the year, but also the turning point—when light slowly begins to return. In this way, Heather’s life and legacy remain a reminder that even in the deepest darkness, love, hope, and light endure.
Heather will be forever remembered for her devotion to her children, her unwavering work ethic, and the love she gave so freely to those closest to her. Her memory will live on through Spencer and Makenzie and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Service details will be shared at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home. 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT.
