Frederick Yates, 88, of Westminster passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2024, at the Dartmouth Medical Center. Fred was born on April 17, 1936, to Donald Yates Sr. and Margaret Bordeau Yates in Bellows Falls. He later graduated from Bellows Falls High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Fred married Lorraine Bates who survives.

Fred was very involved in his community and was a member of the Senior Center, Masons, Elks Lodge 1619, past Alumni President and was a member, as well as deacon and trustee of the United Church in Bellows Falls.

Fred is survived by his wife, Lorraine and daughter, Bethany and her husband, Scott Coursen, grandchildren, Kya and Mike Root, and Reid and Samantha Coursen, as well as four great-grandchildren, Willow, Roman, Miles and Austin.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Florence and Polly, as well as his brother, Donald Jr.

A Graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Westminster New Cemetery in Westminster, VT.
