Elisabeth N. Berquist, of Alstead, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Sullivan County Home in Unity, NH. Betty was born in North Charlestown, NH on January 3, 1934, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian (Nichols) Royce.

She attended schools in Acworth, Alstead and Charlestown. She worked as a cook in the Acworth School and Indian Shutters. She also worked the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Betty was very active, loved to travel, enjoyed gardening, photography and crafts. Her family was the center of her world. She was a very independent and very proud of being the longest living of all her relatives. Betty was a member of the United Church of Christ in Acworth and Keene NH. She was also active in the Acworth Women’s Club and Acworth Females.

Survivors include one son, Jack Berquist of NH, and three daughters, Linda (Robert) Manley of CO, Cheryl (Bill) Turner of TN, Pauline (David) Baily, NH. She is also survived by one son-in-law, Gus Espy, MO, one brother, Art Royce of PA, twelve grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by Robert Royce, VT, William Royce, CO, William Berquist and Terry Espy.

Graveside Services will be held in the Spring at the Acworth Cemetery in Acworth.
