I met Una around 2005 when I was preparing to teach fifth grade. I lived near downtown and had several curious experiences with characters in Keene and noticed Una walking down main street and turning onto a side street (she had a distinctive walk). It seemed like it was only a moment later when I spotted her emerging from another street several blocks away and I was amazed: How did she travel so fast?
I continued to look around for her and a few other downtown personalities that seemed to have superhuman powers – and over and over again, Una showed this capacity to be in two places at once. I decided in time that she was in fact some kind of superhero (this is how my mind works) and I used my imagination to create her backstory.
A year later I finally met her and came to know her as a kind, welcoming person who was always up for a chat. She called me "honey" and I always looked forward to seeing her.
I moved away from Keene in 2007 and would occasionally see her when I'd visit, but my memory of her continued to flourish as I became a writer and storyteller. I based a character in a superhero series of stories on her. The character was the leader of a band of superheroes in a small city in the Northeast. The character was named ManyMary and she had the power of teleportation. She is a favorite character of many children around the world. I am grateful to have known her.

I met Una around 2012 in my travels throughout Keene. As time went by, she became a customer of mine at various eateries I've worked at for many years, including a Delicatessen/Market I worked at for around 4 years. She became everyone's favorite towny, and like family to our store and community for what seemed like eternity. Her spunk was unmatched and determination unwavering, I loved serving her at the store, she truly will forever go down in history as my favorite customer of all time and a true friend. She was the first person I'd come see when I moved in next door to her, once she became displaced and moved, there was a hole in the neighborhood that was felt by all. She will be missed by not only myself but all the numerous people she's touched with her "Unaisms" and humor, The heavens opened wide with a rumble when the Universe took you to be with our maker. Rest in Power and Grace miss Una 🤍🕊🕯🙏🏼

I want to tell her brothers and daughter that I knew Deb in high school.
I remember the first day she walked into our Spanish class with a beautiful smile. It did not take long for her to meet a lot of students and make friends. I liked her a lot. So many memories. So sorry for your loss.
