Barbara Louise King

-

Barbara Louise King, of Bellows Falls, VT, died January 10, 2026. She was 99 years old.

Barbara was born in Walpole, NH, the daughter of Albert L. King Sr. and Dorothy (Campbell) King Guarino. She was the younger sister of Albert L. King, Jr. (Bettie). She attended school in Bellows Falls until age 10, when she moved to West Lebanon, NH where she graduated from Lebanon High School in 1945.

Barbara held many different jobs throughout her life. However, she spent most of her adult life as a caregiver, which she finally retired from at age 83, when she moved back to Bellows Falls.

Barbara was a creator – she enjoyed gardening, painting, and writing poetry. She loved history and world news – her recall of all things historical, whether local or abroad, was accurate and informative well into her final years. She enjoyed doing research and keeping extensive notes on the Campbell Clan. She was the keeper of the NFL quarterback list since the 1970s, and she was one of Tom Brady’s biggest fans. Being born in the same year as Queen Elizabeth II, Barbara was an avid follower of hers from the time the Queen was a young woman until her death in 2022.

Barbara’s extended family includes her nieces, Carolyn Tinklepaugh (Len), and Lisa Muzzey (Paul), and nephew, John Fiske, and their families, who survive her.

She is also survived by her special great-niece, Rebecca (Muzzey) Sherman (Joe) and great-nephew,Tim Muzzey (Sami), who she enjoyed sparring with at the dinner table over everything from recent national news to sports teams and pets. She loved keeping up with their lives and activities and was especially excited to add the title of great-great Aunt to her name with the birth of Rhett, Whitley and Walker Muzzey.

In her later years, Barbara was blessed by the caretaking of her niece, Lisa Muzzey, who included her in many family activities. Lisa also shared Barbara’s life with multitudes of her friends, who always looked forward to stories about “AB”. Barbara was loved by many, and will be missed by all.

Barbara’s final years were spent at Stoughton House in Windsor, VT, and most recently at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vermont. Barbara received great care at both homes, especially by the LNA’s who not only cared for her physical needs but made sure she was happy and felt loved.

Barbara will rest between her parents at the Pine Crest Cemetery in Charlestown, NH. There will be private services at a later date.

When you think of Barbara tip a root beer and enjoy a handful of M&M’s.
