Barbara Elaine (Slattery) Morse Guindon
Barbara Elaine (Slattery) Morse Guindon, 94, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Westminster, VT on May 12, 1928, to the late James and Theresa (Gray) Slattery, she grew up in Bellows Falls, VT. She was a 1946 graduate of Bellows Falls High School. Barbara worked five years for New England Telephone & Telegraph in Bellows Falls and for over 20 years as a meat wrapper at ShopRite in Springfield, MA.
She was very dedicated to her family and loyal to friends, proud of her Irish heritage and loved Irish music. An avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, she dabbled in sports herself and especially loved skiing behind her childhood home. She was a member of the Atlanta (Georgia) Northlake Elks Auxiliary.
She leaves her children; Theresa (Morse) Nallett of Three Rivers, MA; son-in-law, Francis Nallett of West Springfield, MA; Michael J. Morse, and Daniel J. Morse both of Springfield, MA; her grandchildren, and their spouses; James Nallett and Carrie Saldo, Danielle, and Michael McKinstry; and Ellien, and Steph Byers; 11 great-children; Jake, Charles, William, Lillian, Michael, Logan, Marigold, Clementine, Giddeon, Emile, and Ezra; three great-great-grandchildren; Jeremy, Vincent, and Rohan; along with many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Ralph Morse, Jr., and wife, Deborah Laramee; her first husband, Ralph Morse, Sr.; her second husband, Arthur Guindon; and her siblings; James, John, and Daniel Slattery, Corrine Gillen, and Mary Lou Reed. She loved them all a bushel and a peck.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Nowak Funeral & Cremation Services, 15 Ludlow Avenue, Springfield, MA and proceeding to Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church, 405 Boston Road, Springfield, MA for a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Additional funeral services will be held at Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, with calling hours from 9:00-11:00 AM followed by a burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Bellows Falls.
