Lily A. McAllister

August 17, 2001 - August 31, 2022

Lily A. McAllister, 21, of Westminster, VT, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Springfield Hospital with her mom and her sisters buy her side, and her brother’s guiding hand. She was born on August 17, 2001, in Brattleboro, VT, the daughter of Russell A. McAllister and Teri A. (Bryant) McAllister.

Lily went to school in Westminster, VT where she began playing sports. She attended day classes at Kurn Hattin Homes where she continued to play basketball and soccer, excelling at both. She continued playing soccer in high school, playing on the varsity team as a freshman. Lily graduated from Bellows Falls Union High School in 2019.

Lily grew up surrounded by the fierce love of her family and friends. She was the baby of six and took advantage of that anytime she could get. Even as she started her way into adulthood, living on her own, she would make time almost every day to hang out with her mom and dad, she was a daddy’s girl through and through. Lily had the knack of making anyone laugh, whether it was at her or with her, she didn’t care. She had a unique personality of lighting up the room, when she didn’t even realize it herself. She loved hard, with passion and wasn’t afraid to show or tell you how she felt. She had a love for animals, and even though she didn’t like touching frogs, that wouldn’t stop her from catching one to show her sister.

Lily looked life right in the eye and always knew what she wanted and where she wanted to go. She had a love for art that started in high school when she signed up for woodworking, and loved hanging out with Mr. Bennett. She made a beautiful hutch for her senior project. Woodworking slowly grew into painting with her sister, and crystal art. She was days away from starting her first art booth, she named ‘McAlister’s Creations,’ where she not only wanted to sell her own art, but her whole families.

Lily’s love for animals shone throughout her home, living with four dogs, Bae, Molly, Charles and Izzy,10 kittens, Jake the snake, and even a tortoise. Lily was a great cook, sister, friend, and partner to her love, Dakota Derby, and mom to his daughter, Peighton.

Lily was so passionate about nature, being there for others, showing unconditional love, she had so much life left to live and will be missed more than she ever could have imagined.

Lily will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Russell and Teri McAllister, her brother, Zachiariah McAllister, and three sisters, Danielle McAllister, Holly Bromley, her husband, Jason, Jacinta McAllister and her boyfriend, Quinton. Lily’s boyfriend, Dakota Derby, and his daughter, Peighton Derby, her nieces and nephews, Spencer, Kadence, Remington, Tucker, Cameren, Sophia, Landen, and Mya. Lily was predeceased by her grandparents, Bill and Bernadette Bryant, and Burt and Sherry McAllister, her brother, Jacob McAllister and her dog, Loki, and cat’s, Midnight and Sophie.

We LOVE you Lily!
