Tonia D. White
Tonia D. White of Westminster passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on August 29, 2026, after a strong fight with cancer. She was born on July 27, 1965, in Bellows Falls, VT the daughter of Richard and Joanne (Duval) Stratton. Tonia graduated from Bellows Falls in 1983. She married Lester White on June 23, 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Lester White, children, Anne White, and Nathan (Amanda) Daniels, and Father Richard H. Stratton. She also leaves her cherished pets, Belle, Lilly and Jade. Tonia was one of three children, survived by Richard (Late Karen) Stratton, she is predeceased by her mother, Joanne Duval and sister, Staci Stratton. Tonia is survived by many nephews and nieces that Tonia was mother to.
Tonia enjoyed spending her free time with her family camping, yard sailing, antiquing and time spent at the ocean. She loved gardening and making her yard into a magical place to share with friends and family. Tonia always looked forward to hosting the holidays and cooking meals for her family and friends. All were welcome at her table. She loved having her family join her for all of the festivities, it meant the world to be surrounded by her Loved Ones.
Tonia worked for SEVCA for 25+ years, starting as in the office of the volunteer driving program and worked in almost all other departments before working in the thrift stores and retiring as the Director of the Textile Recycling Program and Thrift Stores. Tonia loved her community and loved people more. Tonia and her dear friend, Bette, started the Holly Jolly Wish List, making sure no child woke up on Christmas morning without gifts. Tonia sat on many local non-profit boards. Tonia would always go above and beyond to help someone whether it be one of her employees, friends or family.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls. A graveside service will be held at the Westminster New Cemetery on Friday, September 18 at 11:00 AM. All are welcome. There will be no gatherings to follow the graveside service.
