John David Lyman passed away on August 23, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

John was born February 12, 1950, in Townshend, Vermont to David and Betty (Roberts) Lyman.

A lifelong Vermonter, John grew up in Londonderry, Vermont where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Leland and Gray in 1968.

After high school, John started his own car garage and worked at Smith’s Mill.

John was an outdoorsman and enjoyed all outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and working on cars.

John was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Betsy Waldo. He is survived by his son, Doug (April) Lyman of Athens, Vermont, and his beloved grandchildren that he adored, Austin and Emma; his brother-in-law, Marc Waldo of Londonderry; and his step-children, Judy (Joe) Robinson of Florida, Kathy Coleman of Texas, and Bill Coleman of Vermont.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT.
