Janice Miller
Janice Miller passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her home in Rincon, Georgia, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born and raised in Bellows Falls, Vermont to Daniel and Lilian (Knee) Wright. She graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1965.
She worked as a postmaster for the United States Postal Service for many years in Vermont and Kentucky. After retiring, she served as a substitute teacher in Hodgenville, Kentucky. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, reading, vacationing with family, especially at Hampton Beach, socializing, dining out, and swimming (she was well-known for her diving abilities). She was adventuresome. She had been white-water rafting, parasailing, and was still riding waves and roller coasters until constrained by health. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, friend, Mimi, supporter, and shoulder to cry on. Her laughter will always live on in our memory.
She was married on April 12, 1974, to Ken Miller. Together, they served as foster parents for several years in Springfield, Vermont.
She is survived by her husband, sisters, Jennifer Tallman and Karen (John) Noyes, and her children, Lisa (Matt) Coyne, David (Karla) Zielinski, Melanie (Greg) Mooney, Melissa Miller, and Tim Miller, Kelly Torrey, Tracy (David Mack) Miller, and Ken (Rachel) Miller.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Trevyn Miller, Brendan (Sam), Brittany, Francesca, Caelan, Arianna, Alana, and Kiernan Coyne, Megan, Matthew, and Molly Mooney, Breige Reilly, Kathleen Fox, Colin Torrey, Bryanon Miller, Hunter Mack, Byron, Zachary, and Phoebe Miller, Coraline Lockhart and Anessa Prine. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her ex-husband, Billy Zielinski, her nephew, Jeffrey Tallman, and her grandson, Matthew Reilly.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, Vermont. A funeral service will take place on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at the New Westminster Cemetery on Kurn Hattin Road in Westminster.
