Marion Faith Ballantine Harris

Marion Faith Ballantine Harris went to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 2, 2024, in Ogdensburg, NY.

She was the daughter of Nancy Gladys Sanderson and Royal Edward Ainsley Ballantine born on February 10, 1926.

She is predeceased by her husband, Derwood Alonzo; a daughter, “Baby Harris” and a son, Dale and daughter-in-law, Janet Harris. Three sisters, Irene Bunstone, Ruth Gould, and Betty Erikson; brothers, James, Clarence, Charles, and Donald Ballantine. Son-in-laws; Roy Savoy, Keith Nilges, and Bruce Cutts. Granddaughters,Ashlynn (Harris) Nilges and Elizabeth Cutts.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Joyce Ballantine and her children; Nancy Savoy, Guy(Butch)and Beverly Harris, Carol Nilges, Sally Cutts and Katherine Nau.

She has 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren all of whom she felt were not only exceptionally good looking and all of high intelligence, but extremely talented.

Also a bushel bunch of nieces and nephews that were very special to her and she to them and you could tell when they said “Aunt Marion” One who said that when Dad brought her home he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and another who said he wanted to marry her. Along with a very special niece, Janet Stowell that she loved very much.

This may seem like a lot of people to mention, but they were all very precious to her and they all made her prayer list. Mother was a wonderful woman who made everyone she met feel like they mattered. She was an extremely resourceful woman making much of little. She loved to sew, making many of our clothes, as well as wedding dresses and bridesmaids gowns, including a tuxedo for a ring bearer. When it came to baking; she was noted for her donuts, cakes, cookies and pies. We think there wasn’t much she couldn’t do. She wallpapered and painted and turned our house into a home. The scriptures say that “her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her Proverbs 31:28.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Street, Bellows Falls, VT.
